My interest in cycling began approximately 8 years ago as a low-impact method of recovery from a knee surgery. I began by riding a mountain bike on paved trails near my home. As my rides became increasingly longer, I realized that for what I was doing, a road bike would be a better alternative. I then purchased a Trek road bike, and the rest, shall I say, is history!
Now, I was able to ride faster, longer, and with greater comfort. After riding solo for some time, I joined a Trek beginners’ bicycling group to hone my riding skills. I quickly came to enjoy group riding and the added skills that I learned from that experience.
Now, I participate in many local training and sanctioned rides throughout the area. To me, the appeal of biking, is the ability of almost anyone to participate in it. I look forward to the coming year by becoming a better rider, honing my skills on the Trek-Verge Racing Team.
